| + | Thanks to the cool summer, produce has been slower to ripen (and also to go bad, thankfully!) The Farmer’s Market is full of beautiful, fragrant bushels of peaches to can or freeze. Many home gardeners are just now getting tomatoes to ripen and it will be time to can them as well. There is plenty of local sweet corn , too, along with peppers, beets, late season raspberries and blackberries, basil for making homemade pesto and second or third planting green beans. Eat hearty and enjoy the last of the summer harvest! | ||
