G.A.P.P. is a program set up for the exchange of German and American students between the two nations. So far Riley has seen three previous exchanges and is planning another, set for summer 2012. Riley High School's G.A.P.P. program is currently partnered with Lise-Meitner Gymnasium in the town of Willich-Anrath in the northwestern state of Germany. In the past, German students have traveled to Chicago and New York City, also including places in and around South Bend. American students have been to several German cities including Bonn, Cologne, Dusseldorf, and Berlin. The G.A.P.P. does not only promote international relationships, but also international ecological awareness. Students from both countries learn not only about other cultures but also about preserving the enviornment around the world. Riley's branch of G.A.P.P. hopes to continue well into the future.
