RILEY CHEERLEADING
2011-2012
"We don't try, We do."
Cheerleaders can be seen at the boy's football games, and during basketball season at both boys' and girls' games. They are there to pump up the crowd and get everyone involved with the game. The cheerleaders work hard and dedicate themselves to making sure the players have someone to cheer for them.
Being a cheerleader is not as easy as it looks. You have to be able to jump, yell, lift other people, keep your motions tight, and smile all at the same time. Some skills take weeks to learn and some take years. So next time you see a cheerleader, think of how hard they had to work to get to where they are. They had to work as hard as any other athlete to get on the squad.
Definition of a sport- "an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess"
The above descirbes cheerleading perfectly.
