Which Door?
Mary Ellen Merlo (Class of 1937)

At last to dear old Riley
We bid a sad adieu,
And sorrowfully we must part
For High School days are through

Two portals now are open,
Within our future lives,
One, the path to failure,
The other- Success our prize

We stand upon the threshold
In silence and in awe,
With pleading hearts we ask Him
To answer our faint call.

If struggle is our destiny
Then bravely we must fight on,
Until we reach the highest step
Success is written on.

To those who follow after
We wish them great success
And may they reach the climax
Of the road to Happiness

And to our faithful teachers
Who have tirelessly worked on,
We wish them strength and courage
Til their great tasks are done.
